Areas of Focus

While today's university students have the same essential learning goals and objectives as in the past, ranging from career advancement to the broader pursuit of knowledge, the way that students expect to reach these goals has changed. Rapid advancements in technology have made it easy for faculty to provide students with online access to course materials, grades, and many other electronic resources and interactive tools that allow them to collaborate, share, and communicate in ways that support their coursework and research.
The Center for Scholarly Technology (CST) provides support services that can help USC faculty and IT managers leverage existing USC resources to meet these changing expectations. CST services include initial consultations to introduce faculty to the service process and instructional design services. CST offers training and professional development for using basic online tools to manage the Blackboard learning management system.
CST also offers advanced workshops on instructional design and assessment, and events that bring together USC faculty and IT managers who are engaging technology-enhanced learning and online learning.
