Communities of Practice
The Center for Scholarly Technology (CST) convenes institutional and discipline-specific communities of practice for faculty and their support teams who are developing distance learning and technology-enhanced learning programs.
While CST sometimes formally convenes a community of practice, these sessions often emerge naturally through a related initiative, such as the use of clickers in the classroom for formative assessment.
Contact us if you are a USC faculty or staff member and would like to connect with others to discuss a specific topic. CST will explore your proposed topic with the campus community; if enough interest arises, we will develop a community of practice around your suggestion.
E-portfolio Community of PracticeJoin this community of practice that brings together different USC e-portfolio users and practitioners to share strategies, goals, practices and technologies for using e-portfolios. This group will also help us to identify the USC community's level of interest in e-portfolios and determine how to best support e-portfolio users.
This e-portfolio community of practice is planning a spring 2010 'Open E-portfolio Summit' that includes USC faculty, student, staff, and others who are using or considering using an e-portfolios at USC.
The planned event is designed to showcase e-portfolios and will include a discussion on e-portfolios as tools that enhance the learning experience.
