2013 Provost's Prize for Teaching with Technology: Call for Nominations
The Provost's Prize for Teaching with Technology honors faculty by recognizing outstanding achievements in teaching through the incorporation of technology into courses and curricula. The prize will be awarded to up to two USC faculty members. Each recipient will receive $5,000.
Eligibility
Candidates must be USC faculty members; candidates are not required to have tenure-track teaching appointments. Candidates may be nominated by colleagues, students, staff, and/or USC alumni. Candidates may also nominate themselves.
Selection Process
A faculty TWT Provost's Prize review committee that includes the previous year's prize recipients will make the final award decision. Applicants and awardees will be notified in April. The award will be presented at a ceremony on Monday, May 6, 2013, at the 2013 Teaching with Technology conference.
The Teaching with Technology prize will be evaluated on the quality of the Nomination Narrative and the supporting materials outlined below.
Nomination Deadline/Timeline
All nominations are due on or before 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2013, and must be submitted through the online nomination form. Late nominations will not be considered.
Nomination Criteria
Within the context of USC, the prize will be awarded to up to two USC faculty who have an outstanding record of innovating in teaching with technology in ways that are:
- effective,
- replicable,
- influential,
- and shared with the academic community.

* Submission of a completed nomination through the online nomination form.
* Upload of the maximum two-page Nomination Narrative using the online submission form.
Nomination Narrative
Please provide a maximum two-page response to the following four questions:
1. To what extent were learning technologies incorporated into the course?
2. How did the technology or technologies facilitate student learning?
3. Can the use of the technology in the course be sustained or replicated in other courses
4. How did the instructor share experiences associated with the technologies and the relevant best practices with colleagues, the wider university, or across the discipline?
